Fun Salads For Kids To Make

Carrot Curls

used for Bug Salad and Mouse Salad
Use a vegetable peeler to peel wide strips from a carrot. Roll each strip and hold with a toothpick. Put curls into a bowl of ice water for a few minutes to make them hold their shape. Remove toothpicks before placing curls around salads.

Bug Salad

Ingredients
Canned peach halves
Lettuce
Raisins
Maraschino cherries with stems
Carrot Curls

Line each salad plate with lettuce.

Put a canned peach half with the flat side down on the plate of lettuce.

Place raisins on the peach for the eyes.

Use cherry stems for the antennas.

Use a half of a maraschino cherry slice for the mouth.

Place carrot curls around the edges of the bug for legs.

Enjoy!!!

Mouse Salad

Ingredients
Canned pear halves
Lettuce
Raisins
Whole cloves
Marshmallows
Carrot Curls

Line each salad plate with lettuce.

Put a canned pear half with the flat side down on the plate of lettuce.

Place a raisin on the pear for the nose.

Push cloves into pear for eyes.

Using kitchen scissors cut a marshmallow into slices.

Place marshmallow slices on pear for ears.

Use a carrot curl to make the tail of your mouse.

Flower Salad

Ingredients
Lettuce
Tomato wedges
Cottage cheese
Olive slice

Line each salad plate with lettuce.

Put wedges in circle on lettuce.

Place a spoonful of cottage cheese in middle of circle of tomato wedges.

Top cottage cheese with an olive slice.
