 Make cowboy hats out of inexpensive garden hats. As the kids arrive give them each a hat and a bandanna. Then provide each a bucket and shovel with horse, barn, cowboy, and cowgirl stickers in the bottom of it for them to use to decorate their bucket. Hire ponies to come and give the children a ride. You may want this part to be your present to your child. They could all feed the ponies carrots and apples. After the ponies leave you can serve hot dogs and haystacks (potato sticks, cheddar sticks, and pretzel sticks). Stick horses and a little "jumping course" for the kids to ride over are always popular.
