Craft wares:
Candle wick
Wax paper
Prepared wax
Directions:
1. Start with a long piece of wick about twice the size of your desired candle length plus an additional three inches (this will make two candles at one time).
2. Bend and hold the wick in the middle. Dip the wick into the wax and then lift it back out.
3. Starting is the most difficult because the wick will want to float on the top of the wax until it has enough wax built up to weigh it down.
4. Allow it to dry and completly cool between dippings at first.
5. When the candle has started to take shape, you can speed up the dipping a little. Keep a pan of cool water handy so you can dip the candles in the water after each dipping.
6. While this speeds it up a little, candle making is a slow and tedious process but worth the time.
7. Continue this process until you have reached the desired size.
8. Hang them up to dry until the wax completly sets but the candles them selves are not too hard.
9. Roll the candles on some wax paper to smooth out their shape.
10. When the candle is a smooth cylender, dip one or two more times.
11. Trim off any excess wax there may be and make the bottoms even.
12. Cut the wick and hang your candles out to dry.
