The U.S. military in Iraq says coalition forces have killed at leasttwo suspected militants and detained 10 others since Wednesday.

Amilitary statement says coalition troops killed one militant anddetained three others Thursday in a raid targeting al-Qaida in Iraqmembers near the town of Ribat, close to Iraq's border with Syria. Thestatement says the dead man was suspected of helping foreign militantscross into Iraq to carry out attacks.

The military says its troops killed one other militant and detained three suspects during a separate clash south of Mosul today.

Itsays coalition troops detained at least four other suspected militantsin raids across central and northwestern Iraq today and Wednesday.

Inother news, Iraqi foreign minister Hoshyar Zebari said Wednesday thatJordan's King Abdullah plans to visit Iraq soon. The king would be thefirst Arab head of state to visit Iraq since the U.S.-led invasion in2003.

Zebari said Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoganalso is expected to visit Iraq soon. He did not specify a date foreither visit.
