According to the FDA, most LASIK patients end up with crisper vision. The American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery says 95 percent of patients worldwide are satisfied with the outcome

Ten years ago, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved LASIK, eye surgery with a laser that enables people to see without glasses.  But about five percent of LASIK procedures fail,  and those patients can suffer permanently-ruined vision and incredible pain.  VOA's Carol Pearson has more.
