Welcome to the On The Side Recipe for the week of August 26-September 2. This week’s recipe is for Crock Pot Taters and you’ll need:
6 large potatoes, sliced ½ C sweet cream butter, sliced 1 small onion, chopped 1/3 C flour 3 C of milk 1 tsp kosher salt Pepper to taste
Place potatoes in bottom of your slow cooker or crock pot. Layer butter on top of potatoes. Layer onions on top of butter. Sprinkle the flour, salt and pepper over the onions. Finally, pour milk over all. Now, cook on low for at least eight hours, or on high for about four hours. Stir occasionally, and always keep a close eye on anything in a crock pot while it is on “high.” Serve with shaved Parmesan cheese, if desired. Makes about 8 servings.
