Yao Ming

National Basketball Association center Yao Ming is raising money forvictims of the May 12 earthquake in his native China, by holding araffle for a trip to the Beijing Olympics next month.

Ticketsfor the raffle cost $2 (US) and can be purchased with a credit card ona special Internet site(https://www.celebritiesforcharity.org/raffles/netraffle_main.cfm).  

Thewinner will be announced July 21, and will receive round-trip airfarefrom a U.S. city to Beijing, a seven-day hotel stay in Beijing, twotickets to the China-USA basketball game, $1500 dollars in cash, and aguided tour of the Great Wall of China.

Yao created a personalfoundation in late June, saying its first projects would help childrenleft homeless by the earthquake in Sichuan province.
